Procida…

This small island in the Gulf of Naples is full of charm and nostalgia. It may sometimes be overlooked by its more famous siblings, Ischia and Capri. But if you want a quieter place to holiday, a little quieter, then beautiful Procida is the right place. She boasts her pastel-colored fishing village, Marina Corricella and charming narrow streets.

In Marina Corricella, the houses and the old fishing boats have matching colors, so that fishermen could recognize their house, and ones staying at home could recognize the boat when arriving home from a night at sea fishing. The restaurants are close to the waterfront. Beautiful and idyllic, like in a painting.

Colors of Procida

At Procida we discovered that we could rent apartments considerably much more affordable than on its more famous neighboring islands. And still we were bathing in the same crystal clear water. Our first visit to the island was a wonderful experience. When we arrived at the port we discovered that all the taxis are small and often rebuilt small cargo cars. But after coming out on Procida’s curved and narrow roads, we quickly understood why they were so.

Procida is quiet and very down to earth, compared to other places along the Amalfi coast. She may be small in size, and you get through the entire island in a few hours on a bike, but she takes back with great charm.
