Borgio Verezzi…

Borgio Verezzi is located along the Italian Riviera in Liguria. The historic center, Borgio, is a small incredibly charming and picturesque medieval town perched high in the hills above the more modern district of Verezzi. Down at the coast and the main town, there are long beaches that catch your attention. But we'll write about them another time. It's Borgio, the little old village up in the hills, that truly deserves a visit. Here, you will find the small square Borgata Piazza (which every summer hosts a theater festival), and from the square in all directions, you will discover the narrow and charming streets amidst the ancient buildings.

Borgio Verezzi

To get to Borgio Verezzi, one must drive a winding road up the hills from the main town by the coast, and the narrow road can make your stomach flutter a bit. Here, a couple of Italian driving rules apply: fold in the mirrors on your car and honk twice before the turn. The village up here is small and charming, with just a few restaurants and B&Bs. But if you wish to experience a couple of days in peaceful and scenic surroundings, with great hiking trails and cozy village lanes, then this little village is a gem and well worth a visit!

The village itself takes only a short half-hour to walk through, so it's not a large place. However, there are many paths and trails between small farms and beautiful gardens here. In the evening, this place is super charming with its lovely verandas at several of the restaurants. Here, you can sit outside in the evening and take in the beautiful view down towards the coast and inland towards the mountains.
