Ravello is located in the mountains of the mainland above the city of Amalfi. If you arrive in Amalfi with one of the ferries then there are a few taxis standing at the port. But there are not a lot of them, so it may be worth asking the hotel you are going to stay at if they can be helpful with transportation. There are also local buses that can run from Amalfi to Ravello.
During the summer season there are several ferries between the small towns along the Amalfi coast. This is a great way to travel between Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Ischia and Procida.
APE CALESSINO
We have chosen to travel from Amalfi to Ravello with style, in a Vespa Ape, driven by amazing Fabio. A beautiful trip along narrow and curved roads, up in the mountains in a stunning landscape. Fabio happily shares his local knowledge. He can also take his guests on sunset tours in his Ape. We got help from the faboulus hotel La Moresca to book the transfers with Ape Calessino.
Ravello is easily accessible by car. Unlike Positano, where we would not recommend arriving by car. In Ravello you should be able to find parking on the outside of the city without to much of trouble. Remember the color codes for parking spaces in Italy; white spaces are free, blue is for paid parking. Find the nearest kiosk to pay for parking.
If Ravello is the first place to visit after arrival in Naples by plane or train, you might want to arrange a car transportation. We often check with the place we are going to stay if they can arrange transportation from the airport or train station. Then just sit back in the car and enjoy the views on the road. The trip from Naples to Ravello takes over an hour without traffic.
