This hotel, belonging to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, is beautifully situated by the lake in Blevio, in an old stone building from the 18th century. The hotel's own area extends long and elegantly along Lake Como, with many villas featuring private pools and gardens that belong to the hotel. Additionally, there is a pool in the lake itself, with private piers, several boats, and even a seaplane. The hotel has its own garage built into the mountain along the narrow main road, where guests can park.
A guard, stationed in a watchtower at the main gate, offered to drive us down to the hotel, but we chose to walk through the beautiful area down towards the restaurant and the hotel (it took about five minutes).
As you may have understood, this hotel is in a high price range. We did not stay here, but we treated ourselves to a wonderful five-course Easter dinner in the beautiful surroundings. It was a fantastic experience. You can read more about the food we ate and the restaurant here.
