Marina Piccola - "the small port." And yes, it is. Especially if you're planning to swim at the small public beach, beautifully nestled by the cliffs. It's best to either arrive early or come late, as space is limited.
You'll also find beach clubs spread across the cliffs, where you can rent beach chairs. These clubs are very popular, so we recommend booking your spot in the sun several days in advance. Ask your accommodation for assistance to avoid disappointment if you arrive to find no available space for sunbathing or swimming on the day you planned.
The walk down from Capri to Marina Piccola is fantastic. However, don't follow the main road. Instead, take the narrow pedestrian streets to enjoy the scents and colors of the many beautiful gardens along the way.
In the summer of 2023, Via Krupp was reopened for passage after being closed for many years. The road clings to the mountainside from the Gardens of Augustus toward Marina Piccola, offering breathtaking views and an interesting history. We have marked both hiking routes on the map below.
After a day at the beach, you can walk the same way back. In Marina Piccola, you'll find water taxis that can take you back to Marina Grande if you're not up for the climb back up the stairs to the town center. Alternatively, you can catch a bus or a Capri taxi from here. There are also several restaurants and kiosks in Marina Piccola.
