Places to stay at Lago di Como…

Updated: Oct 24, 2024

Villa Mojana

This gem of a villa is located just a 10-minute drive from the village of Bellagio in the hamlet of Limonta. Villa Mojana has 6 rooms, giving it the aura of a luxurious experience to stay here, making you feel like you have the place to yourself. You can enjoy a delicious breakfast served outdoors on a beautiful terrace overlooking Lake Como and the mountains. They have their own private chef who conjures up the most delicious dishes, along with a small selection of wine from their own vineyard in Matera, Francesco Radino, located in the south of Italy. Here, one truly feels that everything is very personal and well thought out. Additionally, there is a ferry stop right below the villa, making it easier to visit the towns and villas along the lake.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, and they have a fantastic infinity swimming pool that offers views of Lake Como and the mountains in the background. It's as if you are living inside your own painting if we were to explain it in an extra artistic way. A perfect place for a romantic getaway!

Villa Mojana and her staff make you feel warmly welcomed, and they are all very helpful and friendly. If you enjoy staying in beautiful Italian villas and boutique hotels, then this is the right place for you.

The villa is located in the small and beautiful hamlet of Limonta. Here, there are no restaurants or shops, but at Villa Mojana, they have their own small restaurant for their guests. It's intimate and pleasant, and the food presented is of high quality. It's delightful to sit and taste some wine while watching the chef prepare the food to be served. We had many of our dinners here, and you can read more about them under Wine and Dine by Lake Como.

Some info on Limonta

Limonta has its own ferry dock, and also a bus stop, both within a short walking distance from Villa Mojana. The ferries, which go up to Bellagio in one direction and down to Lecco in the other direction, only operate in the summer season! The buses that run the same route, between Lecco and Bellagio, are very infrequent. It is a good idea to have a car available when visiting Villa Mojana, especially outside the summer season. But all of this makes the place even more interesting and beautiful! Here, you feel far away from the crowds of tourists in the more well-known villages; you can truly find peace. The villa is fantastically beautiful, as is Limonta.
