VILLA ANTICA MACINA…
TThis villa offers a breathtaking view of the mountains from Nocelle, as well as a stunning panorama of the sea and the towns along the Amalfi Coast. The historic villa, named after the old olive press that still stands on the property, consists of three apartments. We stayed in the green apartment, often referred to as the garden room. This name comes from the fact that Amalia’s incredible vegetable garden is right outside its terrace.
Amalia, the wonderful host who runs this place, welcomes guests with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Villa Antica Macina operates as a B&B, serving breakfast with fresh vegetables from the garden whenever the season allows.
This is the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing holiday, far from the crowds that flock to the Amalfi Coast each year. Here, you are surrounded by nature and can truly experience la dolce vita. In the village, you’ll find a couple of restaurants, a lovely bar just 100 meters from the villa—right at the start of Il Sentiero degli Dei (The Path of the Gods)—as well as a small grocery store. Everything is in place for cooking at home, using fresh and local ingredients.
You can reach Positano by small buses running several times a day, or by walking down the ancient stairways and trails leading to the town.
Amalia herself describes this place as paradise on earth, and we couldn’t agree more.
