CASA GIROLAMA…
We rented a lovely apartment on Piazza Duomo, right in the heart of the city along Corso Umberto. It was the perfect base for us. From the apartment, we had a view of the square, local restaurants, the church, and the fountain, and we could watch the local artists paint their pictures day after day. It became a delightful ritual to observe how the town’s residents fed the pigeons, and from our balcony, we grew accustomed to watching the large groups of cruise ship tourists arriving every other day. Sitting on the balcony and watching the daily life unfold on the square was a truly special experience.
RELAIS 147…
We stayed here a short week in the middle of the old town at the beautiful little hotel Relais 147, which has its own little secret garden that is experienced as a little oasis to get home to, after staying out in the city for many hours. The rooms here are spacious and most have large semi-private terraces, with dividing walls on the terrace between the apartments. There is a simple breakfast served out in the garden every morning and they also have a small swimming pool and a couple of hammocks that can be used by all hotel guests.
