The Path of the Gods…

Updated: Oct 25, 2024

IL SENTIERO DEGLI DEI

If you love unbeatably beautiful nature at high altitudes, we recommend walking on the nature trail known as the Path of the Gods, in Italian known as Il Sentiero degli Dei. If you wish to complete the entire original hike, you can start from Bomerano (a nearby town) and walk all the way to Nocelle. This hike needs to be planned carefully and it might be helpful to have some hiking experience since it is 30 kilometers long. It's probably best not to do it during the hottest summer months.

We often choose to start the hike in Nocelle and only walk a small section of the trail to some of the most beautiful viewpoints, where we have a picknick before returning to Nocelle.

A magical secret is that when you arrive in Nocelle, you pass by a kiosk. This kiosk is called «Il chiosco del sentiero degli dei.» We recommend you stop by during your trip. It's an experience you won't forget; we suggest trying their platter with cheeses, hams, and bruschettas, and a cold beer here will surely be one of the best you've ever tasted.

If you're a real adventurer and up for more, you can actually walk back down to Positano or Montepertuso. There are signs all the way, but it's about 2000 steps down to Positano.
