BATTIMANDORLO
Battimandorlo has its own grows of almonds, lemon, olive and carruba. The fruits of all these trees help shape the flavors of the food they create here. We can reveal that their homemade ice cream with carruba is amazing, and it tastes like delicious chocolate. The herbs are also taken from the garden, and the food follows the seasons and territory.
Dinner is served out on the beautiful courtyard under the almond trees and the atmosphere here in the evening is completely quiet and so romantic. Here you can get a visit by a beautiful rooster who looks curiously at you, when you sit by your dinner table.
W VILLADORATA
One evening at our stay at Battimandorlo, we decided to eat at W Villadorata, which is not far away from Battimandorlo, just a short walk away. This was a food experience we will not forget.
We had a nice walk along the roads, then up a hill until we arrived at a fashionable gate. We were a little unsure for a moment about whether this could be the right place, but we called the bell, and yes, this was the correct place. The gate opened slowly and we went in and followed the long narrow road and entered the Luxury Hotel Villadorata, which also houses the restaurant.
In front of the restaurant we were welcomed and was asked to follow down to the garden restaurant. What a beautiful place! Under large, old trees with lights, tables and chairs was placed, giving you views of the entire valley below. There is a large outdoor fireplace at the end and the lights on the tables create a romantic atmosphere. This place is among the best! No doubt.
The food here is fantastic and the award-winning chef Viviana Varese creates food experiences that will make you come back for more. They have wines from their own vineyard in addition to national and international wines. They cultivate organic food and place great honour in this. They are also members of a number of prestigious food organizations such as Alleanza Slow food.
