Right from the start, we were told, “This is your home. Please, make use of it. Come into the kitchen and see what we do here.” Every day, a local italian Mamas from nearby farms take turns preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, allowing you to experience a variety of flavors and culinary traditions. In the kitchen, they generously share their time-honored recipes and invite you to partake in the rich cultural heritage of Sicily.
When you sit down for a meal, there’s no traditional menu—instead, you’re treated to that day’s dishes, lovingly prepared from scratch with genuine care. You might even discover that the pasta is made by other guests, or even yourself during a cooking class earlier that day.

At Fontes Episcopi, nature is respected and celebrated. Nothing goes to waste: the property produces its own ancient wheat, olive oil, organic olive soap and more. Upon check-in, we received a piece of this exclusive soap—a small gift from the farm’s own trees. Even the wheat is used to its fullest potential, with every grain contributing to body scrubs, flour, or even chicken feed. Every dish served is crafted with love, using local, organic ingredients.

During our four-day stay at Fontes Episcopi, we experienced some of the most restful sleep we’ve ever had. The comfortable beds, delightful breakfasts, and the view of the enchanting inner courtyard created an experience that felt almost too good to be true. Located in Agrigento, not far from Menfi, Fontes Episcopi serves as the perfect base for exploring the many wonders of the area (though a car is necessary).
This place isn’t like any other—and we’re so grateful for that. It’s truly unique, a welcoming sanctuary that offers you a genuine taste of Sicily.
